Julie Harrington is a registered dietitian and chef based in New Jersey whose blog, RDelicious Kitchen, allows her to share her passion for educating people about nutrition through food. RDelicious Kitchen features healthy recipes with creative culinary ideas to help everyone create healthy meals in their kitchens.

She has learned through teaching culinary nutrition cooking classes that dry beans intimidate many people. She uses various cooking methods and different seasoning blends to show her clients how to incorporate beans into recipes that are familiar to them. She wants them to get involved in learning how to make beans themselves, which she has noticed helps them evolve into developing long-lasting healthy eating habits.

Her favorite bean is the garbanzo, or chickpea — she has so many recipe creations that feature chickpeas! She loves the versatility and the fact that they can be used in both savory and sweet cooking. The meaty texture is excellent for a plant-based protein swap, but can also be blended to create a smooth hummus.
