Over 100 years. Our grandpa came over from Switzerland and started farming in 1912. Our dad and uncle expanded the farm over the years. My brother and I are the third generation, we’ve been farming over 25 years.
Most of our fields are dry land farmed. The large Lima beans grow well in the cool climate. They have a deep root and don’t require much moisture. The planting and harvesting is all mechanized and requires very little hand labor.
